Dr. Marlen de la Chaux is our Campfire speaker. She is a technical expert on SME productivity and working conditions at the United Nations' International Labour Organization (ILO). She previously coordinated the entrepreneurship program at ILO and is passionate about promoting inclusive economic growth and an equitable future of work for all. Before joining the UN, Marlen worked on entrepreneurship and SME development in a variety of contexts, ranging from women-led enterprises in rural Burkina Faso, tech start-ups in Nairobi, refugee businesses in East Africa to young companies across Europe. Marlen holds a Ph.D. and MPhil from the University of Cambridge, where she studied as a Gates scholar and she graduated from Jacobs University with a B.A. International Politics & History (2011).
